An unusual dish was invented in the city of Numazu, which stands on the Pacific Ocean. Undoubtedly, Numazu is known for its delicious seafood, as well as for its stunning views of Suruga Bay. But recently the city has become popular thanks to the special dessert that is produced here – Deep Sea Pudding. This pudding at first glance may seem too strange, because it is blue. So what attracts travelers to it?

Pudding is made by Numazu Shinkai Purin Kōbō factory, it has been operating for about two years. From the very beginning, the company set itself the task of inventing a dish that would reflect the city of Numazu. Well, what can serve as inspiration in a city on the ocean, if not the ocean? Suruga Bay is known for having the deepest points around the Japanese archipelago. This is what inspired the creators of the pudding: the white layer below is a symbol of the sea bottom, and the blue layer is the ocean.

 

 

 

 

Deep Sea Pudding is probably not the most difficult recipe ever made, but it definitely looks spectacular. In the era of social networks, they could not miss him: the dish regularly appears on Instagram of the Japanese. And this advertisement did its job: last year the company sold up to 2.5 thousand jars of unusual dessert per day.


 

 

 

However, believe me, there is another strange food in the Numazu Shinkai Purin Kōbō piggy bank that will delight many guests. Among them are colored ice cream, carbonated drinks, marmalade pudding, orange jelly with a layer of bloody color, which for some reason is sold only before dinner, and some seasonal desserts with fruits.
